To whom it may concern,
Press release concerning Cycleways Cup race 3 March, Navan.
We would appreciate if you could help us spread the information below, especially the change of sign-on location.
''The racing season is nearly upon us for 2013, and Navan Road Club will once again host the Cycleways Cup road race. This race is often the first 'Big' race on the calender for many riders, and early signs are that we will have a bumper field for this years addition. As usual there will be seperate races for A4's, A3'3, and a A1 + A2 combined race, with ladies riding as part of the A4/A3 race where appropriate.
The big change this year is the location of the sign-on and post race activities. Race headquarters will now be held in Simonstown GAA facilities and not Navan Rugby Club as in previous years. We will arrange signs around the town to direct race traffic to the new sign-on lacation. Simonstown GAA is only 200m away from the finish-line on the Proudstown/Nobber/Kingscourt road out of Navan. Leaving Navan you pass through the finish-line and on the left-hand side you will see Simonstown GAA (before you go up the race-course hill). It is very important that all race vehicles and spectators park inside the carpark and not out on the road as this will cause unwanted traffic issues.
The race itself will follow the same route as usual, starting on the Slane road at Blackcastle ,Navan. A4's and A3's will cover 2 laps of the circuit, while A1's and A2's will cover 3 laps, and all races will finish at the usual location. Even at this early stage of the season many riders will be eager to test their form and show their strenght, which makes for a very competitive race. Once the race is over riders will only have a short journey back to the race headquarters where there will be shower and changing facilities. Prize-giving will take place soon after the last race.
We would once again like to thank Cycleways for their continued sponsorship of the race. 2013 marks Navan Road Clubs 60th anniversery and we hope to make it another successful year. Many thanks for all your support,
Navan Road Club. ''
