Dear cyclists,
Co-operation Ireland would like to invite you to take part in this year’s Maracycle, taking place the last weekend of June, 2011.
On Saturday, 25th June cyclists will leave Dublin and bike to Belfast avoiding main roads and heavy traffic where possible. Distance is approximately 105-110 miles. There will be a huge party with entertainment for all cyclists in the famous Europa Hotel in Belfast. Then the following day we will retrace the route to the finish in Dublin where your medal awaits.
Option 1 One day bike ride Saturday or Sunday, entry donations £35/€40. Option 2 Two day bike ride Saturday and Sunday £50/€57. Option 3: Minicyle (50 miles) Dundalk-Belfast, day one or Dundalk-Dublin day two £25/€30. Accommodation options available for £60/€68 per night include bed, breakfast and evening meal.
Co-operation Ireland asks you to raise funds through your participation in Maracycle to support its work with schools, youth clubs and community groups, giving people from diverse communities within Northern Ireland and from both Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland a chance to meet and spend time together working on joint projects, so that they can learn to accept and respect each other’s traditions and cultures.
Cyclists are encouraged to raise funds for Co-Operation Ireland's work but the organisers will also accommodate cyclists who wish to split any additional sponsorship raised on a 50/50 basis with a second charity of your choice.
The registration form, training schedule and details on accommodation are in the attached Maracyle link. Why not give me a call for any queries at +353 (0)1 6610588.
Kind regards,
Yvonne O'Riain
