Challenge yourself to some of the most iconic Tour de France climbs this July

I am writing to you to tell you about the Irish Hospice Foundation’s 2011 cycle challenges which we hope may be of interest to your members.

For the past few years we have organised a sponsored cycle from Dublin to Paris over five days, essentially a randonnée event, which we will be organising again in July. This has been very popular with over 150 people taking part to date. In return for raising funds for the Irish Hospice Foundation, we have provided all the necessary logistics and support. Over €500,000 has been raised for our work to date.

Based on feedback from participants we are launching a new route this year, from Geneva to Nice to follow on from our 2010 route from Paris to Geneva. Travelling through the spectacular French Alps over five days we will take in some of the best known and challenging of the Tour de France climbs, including the Alpe d’Huez (which will be in the 2011 Tour), Col du Lauteret, Col d’Izoard and the Col de la Bonnette.

I am enclosing a detailed brochure for the Geneva to Nice Challenge and would be very grateful if you could bring it to the attention of your members. The brochure and registration forms are available to download from our website – www.hospice-foundation.ie. The 2011 Dublin to Paris brochure is also on our website. The closing date for registration for both cycles is the end of March.
